From May 31 to June 2, 2019 was held the eighth edition of the "Forefathers Days - PLISKA 2019", a festival - a festival of medieval life and culture.
The festival was attended by historical restoration clubs, equestrian clubs, reconstructors, archaeologists, masters of ancient crafts, from home and abroad, in order to show the life and traditions of the ancient Bulgarians and related cultures from the early and late Middle Ages. Highlights of the event were the military skills and combat practices of the Middle Ages, reproduced from the back of a horse and in foot battles, horseback riding and its use in the recreation of different historical periods, as well as the use of horses in the present day - traditions alive in the sport and recreated by the heirs of our ancestors. Various horse demonstrations, combat demonstrations, archery competitions, medieval crafts, lifestyle and culture, medieval food and drinks were also held.
At their camp, the team at Fort Touida presented the lifestyle and traditions of the Bulgarians from the early Middle Ages, dragging and bow skills.
